From our prospective we’re in an industry fraught with the concept of “who moved my cheese”. My perspective is based upon observation of over fifteen years in multiple jurisdictions. Often people coming into this business mirror what others do even if they do not understand WHY they are doing it. It is not unusual for humans to do a behavior first and then create a justification or buy into the accepted one later. As a business practice for my business, I reject the fundamental concept that all outcalls (they come to you) should cost more. Most providers today don’t know their industry history and can tell one of the ways this came about. Back in the days when the Yellow pages and underground newspapers were the dominant advertising media the added outcall fee was to offset the cost of a driver. That fee was supposed to go directly to the driver for his time and vehicle maintenance. When the NNTP (usenet ASP Alt.Sex..) groups began to enter into their heyday this gave a significant boost to the independent which evolved in to what we have today. Many of those early independents were yellow pages women or influenced by the policies of this mode of thought. These business perspectives or belief systems have perpetuated today 20 plus years later.
As a business model I can understand if an independent hires a driver to take her to outcalls and play the security role. However in today’s market environment many women drive themselves and we all know it. Therefore, whether one wants to admit it or not, $50 to $100 dollars extra for an out call within a 50 mile radius is a “I’m too lazy to get off my ass” punishment fee. I have written countless times doing incalls in your home is a very poor idea. However, how many of you gentleman have seen women in their homes and not in hotel for incalls? Step back, look at the pricing structure so many who do see clients in their residence use. The path of least resistance is often not the smartest path.
Now I’m familiar with all the counter arguments about time and money. I would add it’s about safety, time, money and customer service. If one rejects my position doing business where you live as invalid fine. One has to right to do as they do and continue charging less for not having to do more and charge more for executing a better business model.
We’re flat fee incall or outcall it’s the same. All related costs either way have been factored into the equation. The only time there is a change is when an associate has to go more than 50 miles or 60 minutes outside their normal service area. A practice which is standard in many other service industries. The nature of what we do, the industry we are in is once again undergoing a significant paradigm and generational shift. The cheese has been moved and I recognize the obvious. Sadly so many in the escort industry are no different from ‘hem and haw” and I’m sure I’m about to get blasted by their ilk any moment.
Variation is everywhere it degrades consistent, good performance. My job is to find it and minimize it!
